ATLANT POLIKLINIKA

I was born in Karlovac on April 19, 1953, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1977. After a postgraduate study and a 1981 master's degree, I also finish my doctoral dissertation, which I was defending in 1990.

The master's thesis is dedicated to the transplantation of the pancreatic segment at the dog, and the doctoral dissertation of the transplantation of Langerhans islands in the liver, in chemical caused by dog diabetes. Following the completion of specialization in general surgery in 1984, a specialization in Addenbroke's hospital in Cambridge, at Sir Roy Calne, followed on the liver transplant program. In 1987, he received a Humboldt scholarship in the field of cardiac and transplant surgery in Hanover with Prof.Dr.sc. Hansa Borsta, to immediately laid the foundations for the establishment of the Heart Transplantation Department at the KBC Rebro Surgery Clinic. The following are shorter stays of several months in Clevelend, Buffalou and Houston, where I twice become a Fellow Ambassador program. In 2002, I became Fellow Eacts, which receives a license of work in the field of cardiac surgery in the EU. Since 1990, I am a teacher at the Department of Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb, where I became an assistant professor in 1994, in 1988 an extraordinary, and in 2008, full professor of surgery. In 2013, I became a full -time professor in a permanent vocation, and 2022 Professor Emeritus at the same college. The valid license of the Croatian Medical Chamber was assigned to me until 2027. I am the co -aid of the first textbook "Surgery" 1995 (Beadić, Šoša, Sutlić) in the edition of the "Medical Publishing House", as well as the Coursendor and other textbooks "Surgery" by "Left Left" 2007 (Šoša, Sutlić, Stanec, Tonković). The current textbook "Surgery" in Croatian, to which I am the editor -in -chief, and textbook in English "Surgery" - for students in English, fees "School Book, published 2022, also their digital version (joint edition). These textbooks represent a registered and verified start of digital teaching at the Faculty of Medicine and the University of Zagreb.

I am the author of over a hundred different experts and scientific papers, of which there are 64 scientific papers, and 45 have been printed in internationally valid magazines. (CC or CCI) The works were printed in most important magazines in the field of cardiac and transplant surgery.

I am the author or co -author of the 12 multi -counters of books, 32 chapters in various stubborn books, and I have been a lecturer to the internationally relevant symposium and/or institutions 13 times. Member of the editorial board of "Acta Medica Croatica" and guest editor in "Rad" HAZU, 2011, (Book 59). 9 Doctors have defended their master's or doctoral actions under my mentoring and 7 books in which the author himself is considered to be textbooks of the Faculty of Medicine or related teaching institutions. I organized 14 international symposia and congresses, 5 of which were organized under the auspices of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. In particular, the organization of 61 ESCVS 2012 in Dubrovnik, 1160 participants from all over Europe participated in the organization of 61 ESCVS 2012. I was the head of 7 international projects, which are funded by the Ministry of Science or by medical companies.

During the Homeland War, in addition to participating in it as a surgeon, I began the development of domestic sewing material (Unitas) for the needs of war surgery, at which time the patent was reported. Since 2010, I have been a representative of Croatia at the EUROTRATTEE thoracic transplant commission, and thus we are directly participating in the creation and improvement of the transplant program in the Republic of Croatia. In 2013, I became the official head of the Heart Transplant Program, licensed by Eurotransplant and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia. Since 2007, I have been particularly involved in assisting and installation of an assisted heart (LVAD), which have so far been built on 14. I have organized a scientific conference "Chronic heart failure and mechanical support to the heart and circulation", Zagreb, March 2010, in the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, March 2010 .. For the last 5 years of active surgical service, I have been specially dedicated to the introduction of transcaters' procedures in cardiology and cardiac surgery (Tevar, Tavi), so that hundreds of patients have received a new aortal bite of transcateater so far. The HAZU "stenosis of the aortic waterwasher" (modern diagnostics and treatment) was held, October 2013, as a forerunner of that new technology in clinical medicine. In organizational terms, I am the founder or co -founder of 9 institutions, departments or laboratories, and not just in Zagreb, than in other parts of Croatia (Slavonski Brod, Dubrovnik, Karlovac) and in BiH (Tuzla). I am the founder of the Translation Center at KB Dubrava (2019) of 2022. I participate in the preparatory actions for the establishment of the "Atlanta Clinic" in Dubrovnik, together with the "Atlantic Powling" from Dubrovnik.
